The Perfect Niche Market

By Steve Blalock

Niche marketing is very popular, especially now that many businesses are using the internet as their main marketplace. There is always a lot of competition in business and by using niche marketing you can really help to lessen the impact of it.

Niche marketing is selling to a select group of people. While it may seem strange to limit your marketing efforts to a small group of people, it will really pay off. Niche marketing works and it is very effective.

Getting started with niche marketing is a matter of defining your customers. You can get to your perfect niche market in three easy steps.

The first step is defining who your general customer is. You need to define a few key points about your customer. You will want to define their race, gender, religion, income bracket and other identifying characteristics of your general target customer. The whole point of this step is to just get a basic idea of your target market.

The second step is further defining your customer. You will want to find some major factors about your target customer that will make them most likely to buy your product. You should try to find one major factor that you can use as your identifying factor. This step is really going to define your niche market. You will be able to then move to the next step where you will define your niche market in great detail.

The last step is finally recognizing your niche market. You should be able to define your customer down to the smallest details. By this point you should know how your customer will think, feel and act. You should feel very connected to your niche market.

You now know your niche market and you can begin to design advertising to sell to your niche market. You can find out more about your niche market and really design your product and marketing to fit them.

Figuring out your niche market can seem like a hard task when you are just starting. Through the three steps outlined above you will be able to define your niche market with no problem. The whole idea is to just get to the special, select group of people who will be very interested in your product and who will be the most likely to buy your product. You will be defining the single group of people who will become the bulk of your sales.
