If you want to learn about or get better at affiliate marketing, the definitive source for Wordpress Blogs is Wordpress Goldmine, a training manual and much more by Mark Thompson. Mark's latest idea is a contest for the owners of WPG - to see who could rand highest in Google for a keyword phrase that not many people search one. The phrase we decided to try was Website Promotion Exercise - the very thing we were going to do.
At first I thought I better skip this one, but then I said to myself "This might be fun, and maybe I can win. (Pretty competitive, I am). Plus, I figured I might be able to learn something, and sharpen my SEO skills. So here's part of my plan.
How am I going to do it? Here's my plan:
First, I'm going to write a short article, somewhere around 500 words or less. (If you're reading this article on www.onlinebusinessbuffet.com, then you're reading that very article right now). I'm going to do my best at using the term website promotion exercise three or four times in the article, in strategically placed areas.
Secondly, I'm going to write the article a certain way so I can use a software tool so I could create backlinks (or links on other people's websites) back to my article. In order to do this, I need to write my article with at least 8 short paragraphs. The idea is, the more backlinks, the better your Google rank.
Next, I'll use the tool to create many, many unique versions of my article, and post them all over the internet. The name of that tool is Unique Article Wizard - I love it for creating quality back links. After that, I'm going to visit several social bookmarking sites and post links and versions of my article out there - getting me more back links, and possibly even ranking high on Google with these articles.
Lastly, I'm going to use another inexpensive tool, RSSBot, to submit my blog to many different Feed Aggregators, once again to create quality back links to my article.
There you go - check Google out, and see how I did with my website promotion exercise!
Incidentally, if you want to get into affiliate marketing, I suggest you review Wordpress Goldmine - it will teach you all about building money-machine mini-blogs. You get the book, plus the bonus of access to the members only forum - it's a great place to get ongoing training from the other members and Mark Thompson himself on the constantly evolving field of affiliate marketing. You know what I think? It's the best $50 I've spent yet! It's taught me how to create an income that grows every day - and every day I get closer to doing this full time! I can hardly wait!
